What exactly is Pitch IQ?

Pitch IQ is a year-round remote player-development and mentorship program built by professional baseball coaches with 75+ years of MLB & MiLB dugout experience.

We build individualized plans that combine throwing development, strength & conditioning, nutrition, and video-based feedback — the same systems used in pro ball.

Beau Brehm - San Diego, CA

How is this different from private lessons or facility training?

Facility models are drill-based and disconnected — one lesson at a time, no accountability between sessions. Pitch IQ provides an actual process centered around communication, a measurable plan, and ongoing feedback.
We’re not a “come-throw-and-leave” operation — we guide the player every day, just like a pro organization would.

With decades of time spent coaching, scouting and playing at the professional levels of the game, we bring industry know-how to athletes looking to become game-ready pitchers, not facility-throwers, regardless of geographic boundaries.

Kevin Mahoney - Oceanside, NY

Who will actually be coaching my son?

Every player works directly with current or former professional coaches and scouts — not part-time instructors or someone with a few college innings pitched. He gets an MiLB Player Development professional with a minimum of 5 years grinding in an MLB affiliated environment.

Parents see every message, video breakdown, and update in our apps — full transparency.

He gets a PRO in his back pocket.

Anthony Yoakem - Columbus, OH

How do you communicate and give feedback?

Players upload throwing, bullpen or game videos through our apps. Coaches respond with personalized video feedback, notes, and adjustments — typically within 24 hours. You’ll have scheduled video calls and a direct chat channel with your coach.

No guessing. No silence between lessons.

Patrick Vail - Columbus, OH

What results can we expect?

We don’t promise radar-gun numbers — we build the player who earns them, because we are not responsible “for” the player, but rather “to” the player.

This is a mentorship that includes a structured plan and multi-pronged approach for year-round development featuring our Throw Like a Pro Code.

With our approach, parents can expect:

  • More confidence and consistency in games

  • A higher Pitch IQ

  • Better command & deception through a repeatable delivery

  • Safe & prudent total body & arm strength gains

Phil Devey - Lafayette, LA

What’s the guarantee?

We don’t have one - other than to say - if the player “shows up, does the work and leans in for support,” the outcome is inevitable.

We’ll meet him at the 50 yard line - responsible to him, not for him. He gets all the accolades, the recognition, the scholarships. We guide him and your family along that journey as experienced co-pilots & navigators— because nobody does anything special in this game by themselves.

Javier Mejia - Cincinnati, OH

How long is the commitment?

It’s a 12-month mentorship, not a month-to-month lesson package. We coach through full training cycles — off-season build-up, in-season maintenance, recovery, and progression. Our goal is long-term development, not quick fixes promising instant results after a handful of sessions. It’s a program crafted for the long term; a program that equips its participants with the skills to self-coach & self-correct. He’s gotta do the work, because he’s gotta make the pitches in the game. Not us.

Ben Cortez - San Marcos, CA

Does my son need to be an elite player to start?

No. We work with motivated players ages 14 through MLB who are serious about getting better — not necessarily the hardest or best throwers yet. What matters most is work ethic, coachability, and consistency. If he’s willing to meet us at the 50-yard line, we’ll take care of the rest.

Rob Colbert - Tacoma, WA

How much time does this take each week?

Expect 60 minutes/day, 3-4 days per week of structured throwing and training (built around his school or travel schedule). Each player’s plan is customized — it’s demanding, but realistic. We’d rather see small, consistent progress than burnout or overload. However, if you have more time to give, the progress magnifies.

Shaun Buck - Denver, CO

Do you help with college recruiting?

While we’re not a recruiting agency, we prepare players to stand out to coaches. We teach your son how to communicate & “interview” with decision makers. We advise on camps, strategize on timing, and realistic college targets through our pro network as we navigate the throwing ramp-up/ramp-down for different recruiting events.

Jackson Devey - Lafayette, LA

What if my son already has a pitching coach or trainer?”

That’s a plus — many of our players do. We coordinate with existing coaches or programs when possible to make sure the plan stays unified and productive. We’re not here to replace good coaches — we’re here to connect the dots.

Moses Feltenstein - Bozeman, MT
